The staff list of Joint Stock Company Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company (JSC NMMC) provides for 15 positions for the Compliance Service. Compliance control specialists have participated in advanced training courses 44 times and received 38 certificates.
For reference: JSC NMMC compliance control specialists received certificates of the International Anti-Corruption Academy, including ‘Management of conflict of interest’ - 17 certificates, ‘Declaration of assets as an indicator of detection of corruption’ - 8 certificates, and ‘Prevention of corruption and fraud in the field of procurement’ - 2 certificates.
15 internal departmental anti-corruption documents have been developed and put into effect in JSC NMMC.
The Anti-Corruption and Open Data sections have been created on the official website of Navoi MMC JSC and on the internal portal. These sections contain internal departmental documents, socially significant information posted as open data, communication channels (hotline and e-mail) for sending appeals, social videos and information about compliance control specialists.
In November-December 2022, JSC NMMC held the anti-corruption month, during which 536 functions of 54 departments and units of the central office were assessed.
Based on the results of the assessment, 19 ‘high’ and 58 ‘medium’ risks were identified, and on December 27, 2022, a 62-point Program for their prevention and elimination was approved.
As part of the anti-corruption month social videos were screened on the fight against corruption in Farhod Center in Navoi city.
With the purpose of raising awareness of employees, SMS messages were sent to their mobile phones once a week with information about the main concepts in the field of combating corruption.
In 2022, JSC NMMC held 37 awareness-building events. In particular, 17 workshops, 13 meetings and round tables, one statutory notice discussion, one survey, and five media appearances were organized. The Compliance Service conducted an anti-corruption examination of 990 internal departmental documents of JSC NMMC.
In addition, 27 proposals have been developed to amend the regulatory and internal departmental documents, 9 of which have been implemented.
In the field of procurement, the Commission for Assessment of Prequalification of Potential Suppliers of Goods reviewed the documents of 48 entities on 27 bid documents, and in 2 cases a conflict of interest in the amount of 21.4 billion soums was prevented.
Based on the appeals received by JSC NMMC, 24 inspections were carried out, following which materials on 14 cases were sent to law enforcement agencies.
In two cases, damage caused to the interests of JSC NMMC was compensated in the amount of 1.1 billion soums.
