Since its functioning the Anti-Corruption Agency has been tasked with establishing constant control over ensuring openness and transparency of the targeted spending of funds allocated for major and important investment projects.

In particular, the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. RP-171 of March 18, 2022 provides for the implementation of the projects ‘Construction of sewerage systems in Karmana District of Navoi Region’ and ‘Reconstruction and construction of sewerage systems in Shakhrisabz and the center of Kitob District of Kashkadarya Region’ with the participation French Development Agency.

On the basis of clause 12 of this Resolution, the Anti-Corruption Agency is entrusted with the task of establishing constant control over ensuring openness and transparency in the process of targeted use of funds allocated under projects.

The total cost of the projects is EUR 91.0 million, of which the loan from the French Development Agency is EUR 80.3 million and the share of the Republic of Uzbekistan is EUR 10.7 million. The project is designed for 6 years.

The funds will be used to carry out construction and installation work to modernize water supply systems and to purchase machinery and equipment.

JSC Uzsuvta’minot is appointed the executive body responsible for the targeted and efficient use of the allocated funds, timely and high-quality implementation of projects.

The Anti-Corruption Agency has sent recommendations to JSC Uzsuvta’minot to ensure openness and transparency in the process of spending the allocated funds.

The Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No.RP-3857 of July 16, 2018 provides for the entry of a representative of the Anti-Corruption Agency into the procurement commissions in the framework of projects involving international financial institutions and foreign state financial organizations, as well as the participation of a representative of the Agency in tender competitions within projects.

According to JSC Uzsuvta’minot, today work is underway to identify consulting companies for detailed design and development of tender documentation within the project. After identifying consulting companies, it is planned to develop tender documentation and sign contracts with contractors on the basis of tenders.
