On March 28, representatives of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an online meeting with colleagues from the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption and Agency on Public Procurement of Goods, Works and Services of the Republic of Tajikistan, which discussed the issues of ensuring integrity in the state service in ministries and government bodies, as well as the effective organization of the activities of Internal anti-corruption control units (compliance control).
For reference: On April 21, 2022, the Action Plan for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan and the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of Tajikistan was signed. This Action Plan provides for the exchange of experience on such issues as modern methods of anti-corruption training of civil servants, ensuring integrity in the civil service and the effective organization of the activities of Internal anti-corruption control units.
At the meeting, the responsible employees of the Agency provided detailed information on the activities of the internal anti-corruption control units, the Eanticor.uz platform aimed at assessing corruption risks, and the ongoing work on rating assessment of the effectiveness of the fight against corruption.
In particular, the heads of Internal anti-corruption control units of ministries and departments, which scored high ratings, spoke about the importance and effectiveness of the compliance control system.
In turn, representatives of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of Tajikistan provided detailed information on the activities of their Agency, as well as on the processes of improving legislation in the field of preventing and combating corruption, introducing international standards and best foreign practices.
After that, the parties discussed the issues of exchange of experience and expansion of cooperation in the field of ensuring integrity in the civil service, effective organization of the activities of Internal anti-corruption control units, etc.
Following the meeting, goals and objectives were determined for their joint implementation in the near future.
