The working visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the director of the Anti-Corruption Agency to Europe continued in Finland.
On the first day of the visit, the delegation held a meeting with Marja Liivala, Director General of the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
During the talks, the progress of reforms in the field of preventing and combating corruption in Uzbekistan, the results achieved and current tasks in this track were discussed. The possibilities of establishing close cooperation in this area between the responsible agencies of the two countries, including the implementation of joint projects, were also discussed in detail.
In particular, the importance of introducing in Uzbekistan the positive experience of the Anti-Corruption Cooperation Network and establishing close relations with the National Anti-Corruption Council was emphasized.
The delegation of Uzbekistan put forward proposals for the provision of methodological and technical assistance in the areas of ensuring the openness of the activities of government agencies and organizations, improving the activities of internal anti-corruption control units.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to develop joint projects to prevent and combat corruption within the framework of the Rule of Law Project and determine measures aimed at their implementation with the responsible government agencies.
