At the proposal of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umida Tukhtasheva took part in the fourteenth session of the Implementation Review Group, held at the UNODC Secretariat.
For reference: The Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption is an international platform for the implementation of an international treaty by the States Parties to the Convention, the exchange of experience and knowledge between practitioners, and the discussion of important issues on the agenda. The conference brought together representatives of anti-corruption authorities from more than 180 countries.
Umida Tukhtasheva provided detailed information on the implementation in Uzbekistan of Article 12 of the Convention (Private Sector) and the relevant paragraphs of the Political Declaration, approved by the Resolution of the UN General Assembly on June 2, 2021.
She also made focus on the issues of the anti-corruption policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its main areas, including projects implemented to ensure integrity in the business community and prevent corruption in the business sector.
The Deputy Director of the Agency noted that special attention is paid to gender aspects in the prevention of corruption in the field of entrepreneurship, and projects are being implemented in cooperation with NGOs.
The practice of Uzbekistan in this track was highly appreciated by the participants of the event.
