On July 6, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency Akmal Burkhanov received Matilda Dimovska, UNDP Uzbekistan Resident Representative.
At the meeting, the results of mutual cooperation over the past three years were summed up and an exchange of views took place on plans and tasks for the future.
Worth noting that UNDP is one of the main partners supporting important initiatives of the Agency.
In the past, a number of effective projects have been implemented through joint efforts and significant results have been achieved.
In particular, documents have been developed regarding anti-corruption policy, a system for receiving appeals from citizens online, and the work of internal anti-corruption control units in government bodies and organizations has been established.
Among the most important projects launched with the support of UNDP are an electronic platform for assessing corruption risks, the Anti-Corruption Digest online magazine, and the Tashkent Anti-Corruption Forum.
During the dialogue, the parties exchanged views on the issues of consistent continuation of fruitful cooperation and further expansion of the scope of joint projects in the future.
In this regard, Matilda Dimovska, recognizing the important results of the anti-corruption reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, emphasized the need to involve civil society institutions in the processes of combating corruption, increasing the legal knowledge of citizens, as well as taking measures aimed at creating intolerance to this evil.
Following the meeting, Akmal Burkhanov thanked Matilda Dimovska, who is completing her mission in Uzbekistan, for close and important cooperation and wished success in her future work.
