The analysis showed that in 2022, the courts of the republic had considered a total of 4,607 corruption crimes, 7,414 people were prosecuted, of which 1,482 people were imprisoned.
When analyzed by regions, the largest number of corruption crimes was committed in Kashkadarya Region - 563, Andijan Region - 553, Namangan Region - 536, Tashkent Region - 417.
By types of corruption crimes, 3,670 persons were held liable for misappropriation or embezzlement, 1,289 persons were held liable for giving a bribe, 1,162 persons for fraud, 199 persons for taking a bribe, 254 persons for abuse of power or authority, 160 persons for official forgery, and 680 people for other corruption-related crimes.
The largest number of people convicted of corruption crimes are in the following sectors: education (813), healthcare (384) and banking (381).
According to the analysis, 1,234 people who committed corruption crimes in 2022 were previously convicted, of which 506 people were previously convicted specifically for corruption crimes.
