October 3-5, the delegation of Uzbekistan, composed of representatives of the Anti-Corruption Agency and the Prosecutor General’s Office, led by Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency Umida Tukhtasheva, took part in the 22nd Monitoring Meeting and the 28th Meeting of the Steering Group of the Istanbul Anti-Corruption Action Plan.
During the Meeting of the OECD Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, an overall assessment and monitoring results of countries that submitted reports under the first stage of the fifth round of OECD monitoring, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Moldova, were presented.
During the meetings, experts made recommendations for improving the system, countries presented their plans for implementing the recommendations and actual changes that occurred during 2023 after monitoring.
For reference: Representatives from more than 20 countries and international organizations took part in the events. The fifth round of monitoring in Uzbekistan is planned to be held in 2024.
At the meeting of the Steering Group, proposals for the implementation of the Work Program of the Istanbul Anti-Corruption Action Plan for 2023 and the Work Plan for 2024 were considered. The Steering Group also discussed the main indicators of the draft pilot report ‘Regional Anti-Corruption Forecast’.
In addition, Umida Tukhtasheva took part in a special session on issues of integrity in education, with a report in which she presented measures taken in Uzbekistan to combat corruption in education, including institutional and electronic solutions.
