On February 24, the Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan and the UK Government Partnerships International, GPI, organized an online seminar on the theme ‘Civil Service Recruitment. The Meritocracy Principle. Promotion for Achievements: the UK Experience’.
The seminar brought together more than 70 heads and specialists of Departments for Combating Corruption and Introduction of Compliance Control at ministries and departments.
During the event, GPI representatives Michael Gallagher and Quentin Oliver made a presentation on the UK experience in the civil service recruitment process, as well as the role of assessment centers at that.
For reference: Assessment center is a method that many organizations use to identify management potential and determine candidate’s suitability for higher functional positions.
According to experts, the selection of employees for the civil service is performed in four stages, and assessors judge candidates based on the Success Profile Framework.
At the seminar, the experts also gave specific examples of the behavioral system in the civil service and the practical application of the STAR (Situation Task Action Result) model in it.
The event wrapped up with the discussion of the civil service recruitment in Uzbekistan.
